John Wilson called meeting to order at 2:05
Adoption of agenda- carried
Minutes of October 24, 2015- Ray moved to accept, Barb 2nd- carried
Commodore’s report – John presented his report to group last evening. For full report please go to PAYC website under members site
Treasurer’s report- financial statements already circulated via email prior to meeting. Brian moved to accept, Ken 2nd. Carried
Secretary report- nothing to report
Correspondence- nothing to report
Fleet captain’s report- See separate attachment submitted by Tom Hall
Membership report-
John announced that Jimmy and Marjorie Hamilton have resigned from club as well as Bill Davenock. Patti has purchased cards and circulated for members to sign
--club is capped for 40 boats and presently there are 31.
There are 3 new applications:
Barb Bradstock and Dale Ostrom accepted back into the club via secret ballot.
--Application received from David and Jennifer Maher (sponsor Darrin Olson not at this meeting)
--Application received from Stuart and Michael Messenger. John to speak with their sponsor (Don Mallon) regarding separate applications as Michael is an adult
--Expression of interest from Patrick Olsen
--Late application received from Lance Dobocz (sponsor Ken Arsenault)
Building committee- no formal report at this time
--Lengthy discussion re composting toilets, which was discussed at executive meeting.
--Concern raised from members “ is there enough money to do both the toilets and the docks”
--Discussion re the maintenance that is required for composting toilets
--Joan Hall motioned and Bill Nelson 2nd to refer the composting toilet matter to the building committee to research- carried
--Wendy and Len C offered to research key points of Phoenix composting toilets and will report back to group via email
Website and bookings- Ken Brooks reports that the bunkhouse bookings on line are going well along with the help from Megan Fleming and Jeremy Russell
Ken reminds members to email not phone with bookings
Old business- Guidelines for community living- Darrin Olson has been updating the guidelines. Discussion re adding to document duties for shut down for last person leaving club. Discussion re 3rd draft. Brian made motion to adopt changes, Ken A 2nd- carried
--Society’s act- Wendy spoke about the meeting that her and Karen attended in the spring. States it is still a work in progress. New constitution to be voted on at the AGM
New business-
--Stop burning plastics and return then for recycling. Joan Hall spoke regarding this topic and recommends that club recycle. Joan demonstrated what is recycleable. Reminds members “pack in and pack out”
--Motor oil- Len C reminded members not to leave oil at the club and encourage people to take their oil home. Reminded members that Canadian Tire and Co-op will take old oil
--Moorage reservation- executive has decided to leave as is and will not reserve moorage in advance
--Harbour Days- John Wilson looking for volunteers to participate in “Port Days” May 28 noon- 4 pm. Ian Mogerman volunteered
--Visitor book- John Wilson will change the format in order to collect stats re our visitors ie: where are they from? how long are they staying? what is their size of boat etc
--How to make more money for the club? Lively discussion ensued re structured fee format for size of members boats
--Discussion re the land that the club uses. Brian offered to talk to government to see is club can lease what we use and give up lease hold for rest of the land. George moved to leave as is and Joan 2nd. Carried
--Discussion re honor box for fish station, landing fee for day use
--Nathan motioned that club charge $10.00 day fee that includes picnic tables, trails, fish cleaning stations and washrooms valid until 4pm. Donna 2nd- carried
--John Wilson to talk to Don Mallon about making these signs
